Trans Europe Express returns in 2010 for another night of gay mayhem in Altenburg to warm everyone up for the Elektroanschlag 11 festival. On the decks this year are founding members M. (Connexion Bizarre, PT) and JanaDark (TanzFront, RU) accompanied by Thedi (13th Monkey, DE), PapaLoco (DE) and other guests and hangers-on. FREE ENTRANCE (but no free beer). Third proper album by Soiled aka Marcus H. You cannot define him as purely electronic as he uses non-sequenced analogue sounds to compliment the electronica noises. You could say it's dark but dancy electronica or you could go for light-hearted experimental industrial. Soiled is inhabiting that difficult to pin down area and making it his own.

Bitch Brigade is the latest addition to the Crunch Pod roster consisting of band members: Agrippa and Zero. The album "Dendrite" delivers a mix of synthpop meets EBM, in a similar vein with bands such as Aryia and Ladytron, and tongue in cheek enough to be compared to Ms Kitten.

Ido Tavori - Rhythm Is A Beggar
Ido Tavori’s "Rhythm is a Beggar" illustrates two things very well: firstly, that Israel has a lot more to offer to the musical diaspora than just psytrance producers. Secondly, it is proof positive that the music industry is more concerned with pumping out mass-produced Disney clones that dance better than they sing than it is in showcasing real compositional talent, or Ido Tavori would be a household name by now.

In an era of overblown image, hype, pretension, fashion, and vanity, this album is a timely reminder of what we are, and what we can be. In a word: naked. Part rage, part love, beauty, despair, and hope, "Human" embraces and celebrates the totality of emotion. With luck the point Russell is trying to make will catch on, and sincerity might still have a future left in this genre.

This is a well crafted journey with an intense atmosphere. The tracks tend to blend into one another, especially in the first part, so it requires attentive listening to catch the subtleties.
